 Commencing the Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations, Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha organized its annual Awurudu festival on May 26, 2023, within the school premises. The festivities commenced with the performance of Awurudu rituals, showcasing the traditional culture prevalent in the Sinhala and Tamil communities.

The event further highlighted a diverse range of engaging traditional Awurudu games, including the eye-on-elephant challenge, pot-breaking, sack races, and various other activities. Both academic and non-academic staff, along with parents, came together for a day of immersing themselves in traditions and fostering camaraderie through enjoyable activities like coconut scraping, tug of war, and musical chairs. The students captivated the audience with their enchanting traditional dance and music performances throughout the event.
